August Break

It’s the end of August already and as  you may have noticed I have taken a little break from the blog this month. This was mainly down to 2 reasons:

1. I have been so busy getting back into a routine after getting married, honeymooning and being my own boss full-time and

2. We enjoyed a holiday in Wales with my family.

It has been a wonderful break and I have also been working on some new projects and finishing a large commission (which I can’t show you until Christmas, after the recipient has been surprised with it for their present!)

I have been keeping up to date with the various blogs I follow and thought i would end this post with a few links that have inspired me over the last few weeks:

This new online magazine – so inspirational and full of good stuff

This series by Dana

This recipe

and finally, this brilliant idea – which I have signed up to!

I hope you’ve had a fab August and if you get chance, enjoy the above links!

Steve Jobs

Yesterday was a sad day as news of Steve Jobs death was announced. I for one will always be grateful to Steve for beginning his journey towards designing and creating some of the most innovotive and life-changing technology millions of us use and enjoy today. His legacy will continue for many, many years to come.

I think it is important to remember the best of Steve and in the video below Steve is delivering his commencement speech to the graduates of Stanford University in 2005. He tells the audience about three key stories in his life: getting fired from Apple in 1985, life & death.

Autumn how I love you!

I have to admit Autumn has to be my favourite season. This isn’t just because it is my birthday in less than a weeks time but because Autumn is always so visually stunning.

As a creative person, I often look to see the little things around me and at this time of year one of the most obvious things to notice is COLOUR. I thought it would be nice to share with you my favourite things about Autumn using Pinterest as my inspiration:

Trees hold the most beauty at this time of year, their colours are stunning as they turn from shades of green to browns, golds and reds.

Another favourite of mine is the necessity to wear cozy knits. Anybody who knows me knows I feel the cold terribly and if I had it my way I’d be wearing knitted jumpers, scarves and warm socks for most of the year!

I love cardigans as an addition to an Autumn outfit and love wearing belts to accessorise. My staple colours in my wardrobe are also shades of brown which fits perfectly with the outside.

A must for any Autumn evening is a warm, delicious drink, I must say this pumpkin latte looks particularly nice!

and I love this idea below – a cozy knit for your mugs!

For me, Autumn also brings about the most beautiful light – sunrise is particularly beautiful…

…there’s just something about how the leaves catch the sun, intensifying the colour.

These are just some of the things I love and look forward to at this time of year, what do you love about Autumn?
