Hello to May and some new products

It’s May already (where did the last few months go?!) and I find myself finally caught up with everything after the BCTF last month. As I mentioned in my last post, it was such a great learning experience and I hope to have the opportunity to go to more in the future.

As well as being a great opportunity to meet buyers and other designer/makers, it also meant I had to prepare any new products ready for the show. Since arriving back I have listed my new mug & coaster sets and handmade cushion covers in my online shop. I am very pleased with these and got great feedback for them at the show. There are 9 mug sets in total and 3 new cushion cover designs.

In other news, I am really getting into Module 3 of the Art & Business of Surface Pattern design. Rachael and Beth have put together such a fabulous course and I am learning something new each day! It’s also fantastic to be part of an online group who share the same passion for design. I would thoroughly recommend the course if you are thinking about a career in surface pattern design.

I’m off now to get ready to go out for the evening with friends (it’s so nice having your tea cooked for you!)

Have a great weekend everybody!

November where have you gone?!

Phew! I have only just managed to draw breath after a manic couple of weeks and it’s already nearly December!

The last 2 weeks have seen me pack ready to move house, move, unpack everything AND take part in the biggest event for me of the year – the Fabulous Places Christmas Market. (all over the same weekend – madness!)

I have been in my new house for less than a week and the internet has been playing up so whilst it’s working and before I go out for another fair tonight, I thought I’d quickly drop by and show you a few images of my stand last weekend: (I apologise for the poor photo quality – the lighting wasn’t great when we set up the evening before!)

It was a great event and I had a very successful weekend. It was lovely to chat to both old and new customers – it has definitely put me in the festive spirit! It was also lovely to launch my new reversible bags, mugs and collage packs which I hope to put up for sale in my online shops soon, ready for Christmas.

I am planning to be back into full blogging mode next week when our internet should be working properly and everything has been sorted out in the new house.

Have a great weekend everybody!

My studio inspiration

I think it’s very important to surround yourself with inspiring things when you want to be creative. Over the last few months I have started to do this in my own studio. Here are a few of the things I’m sharing my creative space with:

this ‘Lost’ print by one of my favourite illustrators Mandy Sutcliffe

I have put bunting up around my studio’s walls to add some colour to the cream walls

to the right of my desk I have this wall decal from this fantastic company

this stone is one of my latest purchases by the super talented Kelly or Umber Dove

and finally, here’s a tiny peek of part of my inspiration pinboard, a tag by Susan Mitchell and a magnet by Mrs Kwitty

In other news, I have now listed my newest print: Eagle Owl in my shop, 2 new badge designs and a custom pet portrait listing…. find these and more here.
